What's Your Story?

Updated: Mar 22, 2021

Each of us is a walking, talking book. We can't be ordered on Audible.com or put on a shelf. Nonetheless we do have a beginning, middle and end. We started in the womb in a zygote, growing into a fetus, and becoming a human baby. It is a miraculous beginning. The middle is our life, the milestones we reach and the developments we go through. Our end has not come yet, I don't want to assume what it will be like, but I am sure that God has a plan for that.

Back to us as books, what do you want people to read about you? Your actions create your personality, this is what people learn about you. You don't want them to judge you by your cover, but by the story. Jesus was the best example of a living book. He showed everyone love, compassion, as well as showing His hurts, His dilemmas, and His victories. He was an open book. You knew when you met him something wonderful was going to happen.

The wonderfulness of this all is our book can look like Jesus. Our stories can emulate Him and show who we are through him. We can show people the same love, compassion, hurts, dilemmas, and victories that we can achieve in His name. Our book doesn't have to fester in our past, in fact when we become Christians, a new chapter is started. It is then up to us how our story progresses. As long as we can show people who Jesus was our book can be a best seller.

1 Peter 1:23 - 2:3 (MSG)  Now that you’ve cleaned up your lives by following the truth, love one another as if your lives depended on it. Your new life is not like your old life. Your old birth came from mortal sperm; your new birth comes from God’s living Word. Just think: a life conceived by God himself! That’s why the prophet said, The old life is a grass life, its beauty as short-lived as wildflowers; Grass dries up, flowers droop,God’s Word goes on and on forever. This is the Word that conceived the new life in you. So clean house! Make a clean sweep of malice and pretense, envy and hurtful talk. You’ve had a taste of God. Now, like infants at the breast, drink deep of God’s pure kindness. Then you’ll grow up mature and whole in God.

Yours in Christ

I know that Ephesians 5 covers many things, the one I want to focus on is verses 21 - 31 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to t
