Happy New Year! Or is it? The start of 2021 has been rocky. The turmoil of 2020 hasn't abated yet. The coronavirus now has two new strands, it has taken many lives and has locked us down. The US election kept us glued to our televisions or other news outlets. I have never seen an election so crazy for lack of a better word. I just pray for the US and I know that God will be seen in this.
Weeks ago I ended my study on James and have been reflecting on how it is very useful for us today as it was for Christians back then. I have been able to apply the All means All theme that runs through James on many occasions. I have begun to allow it to set my focus for my New Year rather then make a resolution that I know I will break before the end of January. Once you submit control to God things become much more peaceful. You don't need to worry because He has got this. It also makes the command to "Go forth and make disciples"
Since subscribing to all means all, the lines in the stores don't bother me so much, the errors that are made don't seem so egregious, and the news and the posts on social media unless it concerns me are so much easier to ignore. This is no easy feat, I love that I have those around me to keep this in the forefront of my mind. I know that even though the world is going through a huge upheaval I know that God is still here. He has a plan and He will bring forth the peace and understanding that the world needs to have.
I just want to end this first blog of the New Year on a happy note and share some praises that I have seen happen during the long 2020 year:
Cheryl Hento is now cancer-free!
Lynn Connors is still on the list to have her knee surgery.
The second lockdown left churches open so we could gather to worship.
TJ had a tumor successfully removed from his spine.
There has been 5 new babies, Atreus, Ryder, Harley, Daniel, James.
Brent Marshall's suffering has ended and he has returned home to God.
These are just a few that have happened that I personally know of. If you have some share them in the comment section below. Share the wonderful blessings that God has bestowed on you and yours during this past year and let's make this year the year that we show all means all.
Yours in Christ
Heather
