I have been battling Systemic Lupus for 14 years. It has been a journey that has taught me how to fight, how to suffer, how to cry, and how to ask for help. I have been in and out of remission twice, I have been told that death was nearer then I thought, and at the moment am having some liver issues that are very scary. The thing that has kept me going and not just giving up is that I know I am here for a reason, that God is preparing me for something big. How do I know? Because I have HOPE! I wake in the morning to new love, compassion, and hope from God everyday.
Lamentations 3:19-27 (MSG) I’ll never forget the trouble, the utter lostness, the taste of ashes, the poison I’ve swallowed. I remember it all—oh, how well I remember—the feeling of hitting the bottom. But there’s one other thing I remember and remembering, I keep a grip on hope: God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left. God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits, to the woman who diligently seeks. It’s a good thing to quietly hope, quietly hope for help from God.It’s a good thing when you’re young to stick it out through the hard times.
Though I hear the fear knocking at the door, I can come against it with God. I can get up and fulfil each day the things that please Him. I can know that when I feel that no one loves me, I am assured that He does. I will continue to seek Him in times when the old ways, fears, and trials want to come take another round out of me. I ask you with God in my corner renewing His love everyday, how can you not have hope and conquer all?
Yours in Christ
