Alive

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

In my teenage years I handled things much differently than I do today. I am always grateful that my actions didn't have much more dire consequences, as I was so reckless with my life. Alcohol, promiscuity, and I could go on.

My life changed dramatically when I returned to Church and began to see what my life could look like and the peace that I could enjoy. That insight led to a decision to step into a pool, (well large trough), in cold water, and became the cleanness I would ever feel in my life. That baptism led to my being saved and forgiven by the grace of God. All the past mistakes and actions became a milestone to show and remind me of the mercy of God. My feeling of worthlessness that is so steeped in wallowing in our sinful ways, were sucked out of my body by my rebirth in the pool. I believe Jesus in being baptized by John, was showing us just how easy it would be if we would just surrender to His love and grace.

In the last blog, we where reminded that all means all, so wouldn't it be wonderful to help lead someone who is lost to that magnificent pool where life can become the most peaceful they would ever find. This week I challenge you to pray and ask God who in your life is needing to be lead to God's grace and mercy. Those who need to come ALIVE again in His name.

Yours in Christ

Heather
